Key Concepts
Understand the core terminology and building blocks of Studio Management Pro.
Studio
A Studio is the top-level account unit. Each studio has its own subdomain (e.g., /t/mystudio or a custom domain), its own student base, and its own settings. Studios are isolated — students and data don't cross between studios.
Tenant
In technical terms, each studio is called a tenant — this is the multi-tenancy model that allows many studios to run on the same platform while keeping their data completely separate.
Class vs Session
- Class — A type of lesson (e.g., "Beginner Guitar"). Can have multiple sessions.
- Session — A specific scheduled instance of a class on a date and time.
Booking
A Booking is when a student reserves a spot in a session. A booking has a status:
- Confirmed — Payment received or booking accepted
- Pending — Awaiting payment or admin confirmation
- Cancelled — Booking has been cancelled
Roles
- Super Admin — Studio Management Pro platform staff
- Admin — Full access to a specific studio's management tools
- Staff — Limited teacher access within a studio
- Student — Access to the Student Portal only
WiPay
WiPay is the integrated payment gateway used for processing class and product payments online. It supports Visa, Mastercard, and regional payment methods across the Caribbean.
SMTP
SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) is the standard used to send emails. Studios configure their own SMTP server so that confirmation emails, receipts, and notifications are sent from their own email address (e.g., info@mystudio.com).
