Process in-person transactions, bundle past-due student debt into cart checkout, accept split payments across multiple tenders, and generate itemized receipts.
POS Features & Debt Bundling
The Studio Management PRO Point of Sale register connects directly to the financial ledger, preventing uncollected debt from falling through the cracks.
1. Bundling Past Due Debt at Checkout
When an in-arrears student attempts to buy merchandise or renew a membership, the POS register proactively alerts staff:
- 1-Tap "+ Bundle Debt": Adds the student's outstanding arrears directly into the current register ticket.
- Partial Split Payments: Customers can make partial payments across cash, card, and debit. For example, paying $70 towards a $200 debt reduces the student's active arrears ledger to $130.
- Zero Double Counting: The remaining unpaid balance ($130) remains on the existing debt record without generating duplicate charges or distorting current-month sales revenue.
- Digital & Thermal Receipts: Generates itemized receipts displaying total price, amount tendered per payment method, remaining balance due, and printable barcode.
Processing a Transaction
- Navigate to POS in the sidebar.
- (Optional) Search for a student by name in the top right to attach the sale to their account.
- Click on the items you wish to sell, or use the search bar to find specific products from your inventory.
- Verify the cart totals on the right-hand side.
- Click Charge and select the payment method (Cash, Card, or Terminal).
If you have a Stripe Terminal (card reader) connected, selecting Terminal will push the exact amount directly to the physical reader for the customer to tap their card.
2. Tri-Modal POS System Architecture (Micro ⇄ Mini ⇄ Full POS)
Studio Management PRO adapts to your physical workflow with three specialized register modes, allowing instructors and front-desk staff to take payments anywhere:
- Micro POS (Rosters & Attendance Sheets): An ultra-compact 1-tap checkout widget designed for roll-call screens. Sell drop-in class passes or uniform accessories directly from the attendance roster without leaving your class.
- Mini POS (Flyout Quick Register): A lightweight slide-over cart drawer that allows staff to process retail sales, collect tuition, or settle debts while simultaneously reviewing monthly calendars or member profiles.
- Full POS (Dedicated Register Terminal): A dual-column layout optimized for front-desk iPads and desktop monitors, featuring category tabs, instant barcode search, split tender across multiple payment methods, and thermal receipt printing.
- Cross-Tier Balance Synchronization: Every payment processed across Micro, Mini, or Full POS immediately updates the student's ledger balance, remaining credits, and studio revenue analytics in real time.
